Girasol the Opal Bear.
Background story: Opal bears are magnificent creatures, they tunnel caves underground and use their coat to express their temperament. Opal bears are found around Alpine Ridge, Clearwater and Valley of Fire.
Girasol is part of my mineral and gemstone series, the fur reminded me so much of an opal and as I come from a country where our opals are renowned, I thought what better creature than a bear to represent that gemstone.
Her opal crown was completely handmade from scratch using resin and reflective acetate.
I decided to give her a white underbelly to break up the busy colouration of the rest of her body. while once again I gave her the black eye tufts draw you into her purple eyes which compliment her inner fur.
This lady will be available for purchase this Friday morning between 9-10am AEST in my Etsy shop.
