"I Was Here'', a project I had been sitting on for a long time, something that I hold closely. A project focusing on bringing awareness to animal conservation and protection.
The ocelot, the first animal chosen in the series.
Ocelots are a big small cat around 4 ft in length, their coats resemble a leopard giving them the name 'dwarf leopard'. Ocelots are active nocturnal animals, they mostly hunt rodents, fish, reptiles, birds and monkeys. They are great swimmers and tree climbers.
They live mostly in the rain forests of South America but reside up as far as Texas. However there are very few Ocelots remaining in Texas, some say as few as 30 in an isolated population. They once spread to Louisiana and Arkansis, however habitat loss has occurred due to agriculture as well as the fur and pet trade.
Although they were once listed as vulnerable, they have now been listed as 'least concern' in South America.
Help protect the ocelot and say no to the fur and pet trade.
Olis has a resin face and paws that were cast from an original sculpture hand crafted by me. His body is made from a thick pile woven faux fur which was designed and sewn by me, he has a wire armature inside making him fully poseable, his face is painted in acrylic paints.
Olis is approximately 30x15cm head to tail.
This little lady is sold, but more dolls are available in my Etsy shop. Alternatively you can check me out on my social media pages below. Also check out my Society6 and Redbubble shop for prints and more.
