Soul foxes are very spiritual and intense creatures, they each carry a presence with them that no one can seem to explain. These foxes love nothing more than the dark, they emit a strange glowing light from the tips of their fur, much like an aura, the darker it is the stronger the aura. Not all foxes have the same coloured aura, it varies greatly from their diet, temperament and bloodline.
Soul foxes are found only on the Isle of Missing Souls, here they can thrive as the island is shrouded in mist all year round, making it low light during the day and pitch dark during the night.
Their diets mostly consist of the strange carnivorous plants, fungi and flowers that are found only on the island, including the Isle pitcher plant, luminous mushroom and ghost plant.
Tamashī was inspired by the Japanese hitodama, a spirit in the shape of a flame, however since I have made a wolf based on it before, I wanted to change it up a little, and the soul fox was born. I had this fur sitting around for a while, but I wanted to make sure I used the fur for the right creature it as it is an amazing colour.
Tamashī has a resin face and paws that were cast from an original sculpture hand crafted by me. His body is made from Mongolian faux fur which was designed and sewn by me, he has a wire armature inside making him fully poseable, his face was furred by hand and then painted in acrylic paints.
Tamashī is approximately 35x20cm head to tail.
Tamashī will be up for grabs in my Etsy shop this Friday between 9-10am AEST. Alternatively you can check me out on my social media pages below. Also check out my Society6 and Redbubble shop for prints and more.
