Inside Faulkroal the Wemkeer Griffin

Wemkeer griffins are a divine creature, they hold a power so strong they are able to influence anyone and anything around them, some say they have seen a white ora around these creatures. Like all of the creatures who reside in Wemkeer, they have a predominately white coat and feature striking yellow eyes. The front half of their body is that of a phoenix and the back half is that of a big cat. Many of the native leave offerings at the base of Wemkeer for the griffins to protect them, the offerings are mostly of food. These griffins favourite foods are berries and small rodents but will eat most fruits and small animals.

Wemkeer griffins are found in the Land in the Sky which the natives call Wemkeer, it is located north of Cry India.

The first look at a creature coming from a newly discovered land called Wemkeer, I've been wanting to creature a griffin creature for a long time, and recently I was commissioned to create a griffin for a customer, I really enjoyed creating a griffin and wanted to do so again. I used the head sculpt from my phoenix dolls as I really liked the sassiness it offers, from the previous griffin commission and also phoenix dolls, I ended up sculpting new claws and cast them in resin, I also used the same paws as I use for my wildcat dolls for the back end of the griffin.

I decided to bring something new and more realistic to some of my dolls, I have been casting glass eyes into my resin heads, I find it brings a little more personality and realism into the creatures. So the Wemkeer griffin will be the first doll with glass eyes to go up for grabs.

Faulkroal has a resin face and claws that were cast from an original sculpture hand crafted by me. His body is made from thick faux fur which was designed and sewn by me, he has a wire armature inside making him fully poseable, his face was furred by hand and painted in acrylic paints. Feather were ethically sourced and his wings can be gently posed.

Faulkroal is approximately 30 x 18cm head to tail.

Faulkroal will be up for grabs in my Etsy shop this Friday between 9-10am AEST. Alternatively you can check me out on my social media pages below. Also check out my Society6 and Redbubble shop for prints and more.
