Inside Okeanos the Wemkeer Pegasus

The Wemkeer Pegasus is a dwarf sized creature with a big personality, they are among the smallest of the pegasus breeds found throughout the world. They are known to be cheeky creatures and know how to get what they want, they tend to charm people with their big eyes and small size.

Much like all of the creatures that reside in Wemkeer, The Wemkeer Pegasus features a mostly white coat, however there is a slight shade of a bluish grey with white spots on the rear on some, this colour usually develops when the creature comes into maturity.

Wemkeer Pegasus' are only found in The Land in the Sky which the natives call Wemkeer, located just north of the White Tribal lands.

I had a few requests to make a pegasus doll, so here it is! The first pegasus doll I have made, I used my unicorn sculpt for this little guy. As this is the smallest and most petite of my dolls, I decided to combine the size into the story line for these pegasus'. I was in two minds about what type of faux fur to use, I decided to go with a medium pile thick faux fur and trim it to a shorter length.

For the mane and tail, I used real alpaca fiber (no alpacas were harmed!) which was sourced from a farm here in Australia, this give the pegasus a realistic look. I was initially going to use synthetic fibers but it just make the whole doll look tacky and not realistic at all, so I opted for the real fiber.

For the wings, I used ethically source feathers, they are only small wings, as I wanted this pegasus to have a foal likeness.

Okeanos has a resin face and hooves that were cast from an original sculpture hand crafted by me. Her body is made from thick faux fur which was designed and sewn by me, she has a wire armature inside making her fully poseable, her face was furred by hand and painted in acrylic paints. Her mane is made from ethical alpaca fibre and wings made from ethical feathers.

Okeanos is approximately 18 x 18cm head to tail.

Okeanos will be up for grabs in my Etsy shop this Friday between 9-10am AEST. Alternatively you can check me out on my social media pages below. Also check out my Society6 and Redbubble shop for prints and more.
