Lilac rat's are sweet little critters, they tend to offer little lilac flowers to anyone they meet as a token of good will and friendship. They live in large family groups of around 100-200 rats, each rat has equal hierarchy, responsibility and will care for the young of the mischief.
Because these rats live in lilac plants, their fur has turned purple in colour to blend into their surroundings, these critters have a sweet scent of lilac from rubbing against the flowers. Lilac rats are found on the mainland Nanclendara in the region of Alpine Ridge from Clearview to Watchman's Cape.
I haven't had too many critters up for grabs lately as I have been swamped and have had some personal problems, but I've been working on this little rat in between making my dolls for the Calgary Zoo. Rat's are my smallest dolls so they're great to create when I'm coming up to the end of a faux fur supply and I can also complete them a little faster than my larger dolls. They are also super adorable!
This little ratty has a wire armature as it is a smaller doll and my ball and socket armature won't fit in it, possibly in the future I will use a smaller plastic armature.
Syringa has a resin face and claws were cast from an original sculpture hand crafted by me. His body is made from thick faux fur which was designed and sewn by me, he has a plastic ball and socket armature inside making him fully poseable, his face was furred by hand and painted in acrylic paints.
Syringa is approximately 25 x 12cm head to tail.
Syringa will be up for grabs in my Etsy shop this Friday around 9 am AEST, alternatively you can check me out on my social media pages below.
