Darklands dragons have a bit of a nasty streak, they tend to have a bit of a gang mentallity and will steal and harrass until they get what they want. They have very sharp teeth and claws which help them rip flesh from bones, chew and fight. They are a medium sized dragon, with males usually ranging from the size of a large car and the females slightly smaller. The red colouring is on both sexes with the males red usually more vibrant. These dragons will pair for life and will nest in the same spot each year.

This doll was a total experiment, I wanted to make a dragon that didn't have faux fur and more of a scale texture with the ability to still pose. This was also an experiment for a new material and process of my large dragon sculpt. I used a combination of different materials and techniques to achieve the body. The process takes a lot longer than my normal process, there's no patterning but the body is completely hand sewn to make sure I could get the contouring and shape.
Phlegein has a resin face and claws were cast from an original sculpture hand crafted by me. His body is made from a combinations of fibres and latex, he has a plastic ball and socket armature inside making him fully poseable, his face was painted in acrylic paints. his wings are made from a faux suede and wire.
Phlegein is approximately 40 x 25cm head to tail, he is completely poseable.
